General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR)

UK GDPR is a European Directive that was brought into UK law with an updated Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA) in May 2018. It was brought into line with changes to the UK leaving the EU on 31 December 2020.

The UK GDPR and DPA 2018 exist to look after individuals’ data. It is a series of safeguards for every individual. Information about individuals needs to be treated with respect and be secure.

The UK GDPR exists to protect individual rights in an increasingly digital world.

 

Key principles of the UK GDPR

Lawfulness, transparency and fairness are the key principles which underpin our privacy policy.

EdOp is the Data Controller within the GDPR framework and follows the guidance under which we collect data for a specific purpose and use it for that purpose. Accuracy, retention policy and security are ensured.

Data use:  The data is for potential enrolment by the Subject (parents/guardian looking to avail our services). To allow EdOp to offer a service matched to the requirements and also future marketing for our current and evolving services.

Legal basis: For lawful conduct of business.

Retention: For 4 years, matching our current span of age group that we provide the service for from the point when we are contacted.

Sharing: The data is not shared with any third party.

Rights:  Data Subjects have the option not to fill in and submit the form since the last entry before submitting the form asks for permission.
